Mo Salah’s friend suggests there are plenty of reasons the striker is ‘unhappy’ at Liverpool

Mohamed Salah has multiple reasons to be unhappy with Liverpool, according to the Egyptian’s close personal friend.
The Liverpool striker is the Premier League’s top scorer, scoring 13 times in as many games for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

He still has two and a half years left on his contract at Anfield but has opened the door for a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona in recent days.

And former Salah international teammate Mohamed Aboutrika has claimed his ‘brother’ has a number of issues with the club, which he refuses to disclose.

Mohamed Salah refused to rule out a move to Real Madrid or Barca in the future

One thing Aboutrika was willing to concede was Salah’s disappointment at not being given the captain’s armband in the recent Champions League clash with FC Midtjylland.

“I called Salah about his situation at Liverpool and he is upset, but that will never affect his performance on the pitch,” Aboutrika told beIN Sports.

“I know Salah is not happy at Liverpool, he told me the reasons he is not happy but these are secrets and I cannot speak in public.

“One of the reasons that made Salah angry was that he wasn’t the captain against Midtjylland. ”

Salah’s friend hinted he had a number of issues with Liverpool

Salah confirmed Aboutrika’s claims in a recent AS interview, telling the newspaper: “Honestly, I was very disappointed. I was hoping to be the captain, but it’s a decision of the coach. I accept it. ”

Klopp gave Salah’s short-term comments following the win over Crystal Palace, with Salah refusing to rule out a move to the La Liga giants.

“It’s a tough question, but at the moment I can say it’s all in the hands of the club,” he said, when asked about his long-term future with the club.

“Of course I want to break records here and, I repeat, all club records, but everything is in the hands of the club.

“I think Madrid and Barcelona are two great clubs. Who knows what will happen in the future. ”
