Matthew McConaughey makes his fortune as an actor, but he also likes to raise money every now and then.
On Sunday afternoon, the 51-year-old actor was seen in Hollywood filming a commercial for Doritos.
The Interstellar star leaned against a wall and looked at his phone as another actor spray-painted around the landscape.
Okay, okay: Matthew McConaughey was spotted in Hollywood on the set of a Doritos commercial on Sunday afternoon
The stunned and confused actor was spotted wearing a blue button-down shirt, along with a pair of beige jeans and gray sneakers; he left his hair messy for the shoot.
The Oscar-winning actor later donned a large blue face mask as he mingled with the rest of the commercial’s production crew.
The ad comes shortly after a widely publicized interview between McConaughey and Russell Brand on the latter’s Under The Skin podcast, where the actor discussed issues he considered relevant in the political sphere.
The How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days actor was keen to blow up what he called the “illiberal left” and their attitude towards those who disagree with their views.
Staying Safe: The Magic Mike actor wore a face mask as he hung out with other members of the commercial’s production crew
Speaking: The ad comes shortly after the actor gave an interview to Russell Brand regarding his take on modern politics
He said: “There are many [of voters] on this illiberal left which condescends, patronizes and is arrogant towards these 50% remaining.
McConaughey then discussed Hollywood’s perception of much of America as a liberal stronghold and the perceived political stance that comes with being an actor.
‘That’s, you know, part of why so many of the nation, of those 50 percent look at us in Hollywood and say’ yeah, that’s another celebrity out there, and the West Coasts, and the elite of the northeast. ”
He then felt that it would not be effective for individuals on the left to celebrate in light of Joe Biden’s victory in the last election, and that a meeting in the middle of the political spectrum would be a good place to build a debate.
Speaking: McConaughey felt it would be a courageous move if individuals on both sides of the political spectrum became “aggressively centered”
Speak Freely: The interview took place during the December 1 episode of the Brand’s Luminary Under The Skin podcast series
“I almost feel like it’s a gesture to say, ‘Let’s get centered aggressively. I dare you. “”
McConaughey then called for a re-examination of the values that underlie American politics and used the analogy of a basketball game to illustrate the combative quality he sees as predominant in modern politics.
“We are a nation… that claps louder when our opponent misses a shot than we are happy when we hit a shot. ”
The native Texan has recently spoken out on political issues and has reportedly considered running for governor of his home state.
