Spoilers for the Season 2 finale follow
Still there? Well if you’ve caught the episode you’re probably still in shock this last ten minutes, which saw none other than Luke Skywalker, in his post-Return of the Jedi Prime shows up to save the day with his green lightsaber, after taking Baby Yoda’s Force-Skype call. Mark Hamill himself was credited for the appearance (although obviously a lot of digital deception was used), and he tweeted after the episode was released on Disney +. “Have you seen anything good on TV lately?” he asked, before continuing with a message hailing the fact that his arrival did not leak before the series aired. “The fact that we were able to keep my involvement a secret for over a year without leaks is nothing short of a miracle. A real triumph for spoiler hackers everywhere!
That’s right – Luke’s appearance has really managed to stay under wraps, even though early reports revealed the arrival of live-action Rosario Dawson Ahsoka Tano and the return of Boba Fett ahead of the season airing. . It’s a good sign that the next list of Disney + shows in Star Wars and Marvel may be able to grab some more huge surprises in the future. Speaking of the future, where The Mandalorian goes from here remains to be seen – but we do know that more adventures with Boba will come at the end of the year in something called Boba Fett’s book. Stay tuned to see if this is his own series, a single, or the next phase of The Mandalorian himself.
