Former Salah international teammate Mohamed Aboutrika told the bombshell the Egyptian was unstable at Anfield.
He claimed Salah was annoyed not to be named captain against FC Midtjylland and that in his opinion Liverpool could be ready to take advantage of him.
O’Neil, who is Liverpool’s Under-23 assistant coach, played down that notion, saying that from what he’s seen the forward is far from unhappy at Anfield.
O’Neil told talkSPORT: “What I hear about how hard he works in training and how bubbly he is on the pitch, I don’t see that being a problem.

“The players will be giving interviews and sometimes, especially when it’s done in other countries and in other languages, there will be stuff that will come up.
“I think you have to judge him by his performance and to me he doesn’t look like an unhappy guy at Liverpool Football Club.
“What I hear about how he trains and how hard he works, he certainly doesn’t give off the notion that he’s unhappy. ”
It was Salah who was the first to suggest he might be miserable at Liverpool admitting he was annoyed not to be named Champions League captain.
He told AS: “Honestly, I was very disappointed. I was hoping to be captain, but it’s a decision of the coach. I accept it. ”
Salah also told the Spanish newspaper: “Who knows what’s going to happen. But for now, I’m focused on winning the Premier League and Champions League again with Liverpool. ”
When pressed for a more detailed answer, he added: “It’s a difficult question, but at the moment I can say that everything is in the hands of the club.
“Of course I want to break records here and, I repeat, all club records, but everything is in the hands of the club. ”
Adding more information on Salah’s situation, Aboutrika hinted that there were other reasons the Liverpool star was unhappy on Merseyside.
“I called Salah about his situation at Liverpool and he is upset, but that will never affect his performance on the pitch,” Aboutrika told beIN Sports.
“I know Salah is not happy at Liverpool, he told me the reasons he is not happy but they are secrets and I cannot speak in public.
“One of the reasons that made Salah angry was that he wasn’t the captain against Midtjylland. ”
He added: “If Salah were a Real Madrid or Barcelona player, and playing at the same level as Liverpool, he would have won the Ballon d’Or, and it is normal for a Spanish newspaper to ask Salah about Real Madrid and Barcelona. .
“In my opinion, Liverpool are considering selling Salah for economic gain.
“I have no influence on Salah’s decisions, he’s my friend and my brother, and he’s smart enough to know what’s best for him. ”
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp did not respond to the latest claims that Salah was unhappy but referred to the interview in AS.
” I have nothing to say [about the AS interview]. Everything is fine on my side, ”he said.
