This does not include England sides such as Manchester United, Man City or Chelsea, who all avoid each other until the quarter-finals.
As it stands, the potential Group A opponent would be Atletico Madrid – who knocked out Klopp’s side from the competition last season – but FC Red Bull Salzbourg and Moscow locomotive can still qualify for knockouts in second place.
Group B is still up for grabs with Borussia Monchengladbach, Shakhtar Donetsk, Real Madrid and Inter Milan still all of Liverpool’s potential opponents.

FC Porto would be the option of Group C if the draw was conducted this way, while Seville, who are tied on points with Chelsea in Group E, could also face the Reds in the last 16.
Borussia Dortmund, Lazio and Club Bruges can all still qualify for second place in Group F, while it is very likely Juventus who will finish second in group G, even if it is possible Barcelona may fall to second place in the last two group matches.
Paris Saint Germain and RB Leipzig are potential Group H opponents for Liverpool.
