Latest coronavirus figures in Kirklees, Leeds and Sheffield: 1,187 cases, 37 deaths and infection rates rising in 3 areas

There have been 1,187 new confirmed coronavirus cases in Yorkshire and 37 other deaths.
Bradford recorded the highest number of new cases in the past 24 hours, with 176 confirmed during that time.

Leeds also recorded a high number of new cases, with 167 and the city also recorded six other deaths.

In England, another 314 people who tested positive for Covid have died, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in English hospitals to 44,126.

The patients were 38 to 102 years old and all but 11 (63 to 93 years old) had known underlying health problems.

1,187 new cases of coronavirus diagnosed

There have been 1,187 other confirmed Covid cases in Yorkshire in the past 24 hours.

The largest increase in cases was recorded by Bradford, where 176 new cases were confirmed during this period.

This was followed by Leeds, where 167 new cases were recorded.

York once again recorded the fewest new cases on the last day, with 21.

37 Covid deaths in Yorkshire hospitals

There have been 37 other coronavirus deaths recorded by hospital trusts in Yorkshire.

In the past 24 hours, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust confirmed the highest number of deaths with 12.

This was followed by the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which registered six.

Deaths have also been recorded by hospital trusts in Barnsley, Bradford, Calderdale, Harrogate, Hull, Sheffield, Rotherham and York.

Three parts of Yorkshire saw their infection rates rise in the seven days leading up to November 30.

Rates rose in Scarborough which recorded 612 new cases, Harrogate had 143 and York which had 140.
