Cameron promoted each event on social media as part of a movement called Sing It Louder USA, which claims to “sing Christmas carols in communities across the United States … in response to government tyrants. saying how to celebrate Christmas. ”
The Oaks issued a statement calling the event “irresponsible but constitutionally protected” and claimed to have asked protesters not to congregate in its parking lot.
We do not tolerate this irresponsible – but constitutionally protected – peaceful demonstration. We share your concern and have notified the sheriff’s office. Additionally, we reached out to the event planner to ask them not to use The Oaks as a venue.

Many online commentators to the posts pointed out that the mall could have ended the protest.
“To be clear,” one person wrote on Twitter, “there is no constitutional right to protest on PRIVATE PROPERTY. You can also kick them out if you want. Threatening public health is a 100% valid reason to protect your employees and customers wearing masks. ”
Deadline has contacted The Oaks owner Macerich Properties for a reaction to these comments, but has not received a response.
