The star was criticized with a message against the show’s strict rules.
It soon became clear that she was communicating with her family during her successful stay in Wales – and some viewers attracted her.
But the castle queen, 35, defended herself after addressing the controversy on social media.
Boys Buzz, 6, Buddy, 4 and Max, 2 loved her little cues – including a not-so-subtle thumb to nose as she wiggled her fingers.
She revealed how important her secret message to her sons was after being hailed as the winner.
Giovanna posted a photo of herself on Instagram leaving the castle and triumphantly waving her hand to the camera.
She captioned the message: “Yes… I know it was timed! I tried to find a discreet ‘signal’ with the boys so that they know that I was thinking of them while I was away… They have 6,4 and 2, so subtlety (like a little nudge) doesn’t not going to walk on it.
“We decided to go big. I can’t tell you how much that meant when @antanddec started doing it again!
She continued, “Vernon was caring, hilarious and intelligent while Jordan filled us all with pride as he took on each new trial with increasing courage and bravery.
“The whole experience would have been completely different without my awesome campmates (whom I love endlessly). ”
Her little boys will soon see her no longer on TV.
Giovanna just landed her first TV role with CBeebies since leaving I’m A Celebrity.
