Epstein’s accuser got ‘half a million’ from attacker: court documents

Virginia Giuffre is Jeffrey Epstein’s toughest and most public accuser – but she also secretly pocketed $ 500,000 from the pedophile financier, according to new court documents.

The bombshell allegation that Giuffre took half a million dollars from Epstein is contained in a forensic file by Grand Prosecutor Alan Dershowitz, although when and precisely why the money changed hands is not disclosed.

Dershowitz is attempting to discredit Giuffre, who has claimed publicly and in court documents that Epstein sold her to the attorney when she was underage. Dershowitz, 81, has denied the allegations.

Dershowitz’s filing is part of an April 2019 libel action brought against him by Giuffre. He cites the transcript of an 80-minute 2019 phone call between reporter Sharon Churcher and Manhattan book editor Tony Lyons, which recorded the conversation – allegedly without Churcher’s knowledge.

During the conversation, Churcher, the reporter who published Giuffre’s first interview in 2011, claims her subject was “a big spender,” according to court documents.

“She spent so much money. Because you see, Epstein paid her, ”Churcher told Lyons. “She had settled in with Epstein… She had taken half a million, I think she was.”

“Surprisingly, she could break her deal without speaking because of the First Amendment. You can’t really be happy with anyone, ”Churcher added.

Lyons published books by Dershowitz. The two were discussing Churcher’s book on the ‘Me Too’ movement when they spoke last year.

Churcher also claimed that she believed Giuffre had mistaken Dershowitz “for another Harvard professor”.

“She never named Alan… I think she mistook him for someone else,” Churcher said.

She also described Epstein’s abuse.

“He had two operations. He was a very sick man in terms of – he loved those schoolgirls giving him erotic massages. Then he had this totally separate thing where he was basically sucking beautiful young women out of very powerful men, ”Churcher said.

During the conversation, Churcher admits that Giuffre was paid for their 2011 interview, conceding, “It was checkbook journalism.”

The Dershowitz file also alleges that Giuffre was 16, not 15, when she first met Ghislaine Maxwell.

Churcher declined to comment.

“We look forward to taking Ms. Churcher under oath,” said Charles Cooper, attorney for Giuffre.
