Maybe it’s a little different because he’s not a quarterback, but he’s a first-round pick, he’s been benched as well, he’s been the target of attacks from fans , he’s had a lot of ups and downs in his 11-year career and he’s come out the other side.
So whenever a top-tier Eagle or former first-round pick goes through any situation, Graham is the obvious guy to turn to for how to get there.
Graham was asked on Thursday what advice he had for Wentz, benched in favor of rookie Jalen Hurts.
“First of all, try not to worry about what people are going to say because only you know what’s going on and how you get there,” Graham said Thursday. “And how you get there is really working on the things you need to improve yourself at and the things that tend to pop up all the time. So for me, it’s that I need to take off faster. I have to start doing this for myself. … Keep working hard. Keep building where you are weak. You certainly know you can get to where you were.
“We all still have a lot of faith in Carson. We have seen it. We know it’s right for him to come out and continue working like him. So don’t worry about what the naysayers say. It doesn’t matter, because you are the one who can change what people say by the way you work. That’s what kept me here, how hard I worked and how hard I tried to flip that negative and turn it into a positive.
