–As previously reported, Jim Ross recently posted reviews on his Grilling JR podcast regarding some of the in-ring styling in AEW. AEW’s Brandon Cutler later appeared to mock the comments on Twitter. According to an update from WrestlingNews.co, some male wrestlers on the AEW list responded anonymously to JR’s comments and shared their thoughts, and they weren’t happy with the way Ross “buries” their work.
According to the report, AEW wrestlers felt that while Ross made some good points about his criticisms, some wrestlers are less likely to listen to him if he rips up their work in public.
One wrestler commented, “Look, I know there is a lot that JR can teach us, but burying ourselves in the show or on his podcast will only cause some of us to ignore what we are doing. he says. I grew up watching JR and he’s the best and we love that he calls our matches, but maybe find another way to criticize the wrestlers in the ring. Everyone does what they have been taught. I agree that sometimes things need to be slowed down, but that’s not going to happen when the guy who’s supposed to help kick us out is going to bury us publicly.
Another wrestler reportedly shared similar feelings about Ross’s comments. Additionally, Jerry Lynn has been highlighted as someone who receives a lot of praise behind the scenes not only for being a direct shooter, but also for being someone who offers constructive criticism as well.
As reported, Ross said the following on his podcast:
“I told a kid the other day at AEW that everyone was doing the same thing. You are all going outside. You group together like coils. You stand there in a joke, friends and foes together, side by side so you can catch a leaping idiot who never wins with this move. They are looking for the holy song of shit. They love to hear “this is awesome”. It’s a bit like people. It’s a trapeze number. I do not accept this. DDT is an excellent finish and should be used as such. ”
In a recent interview with Sportskeeda, AEW TNT champion Darby Allin expressed his agreement with Ross.
After JR made his first comments on his podcast, Cutler tweeted on Dec. 11, “THIS WEDNESDAY on #AEWDynamite 7v7. We’re going to go out, come together like reels, stand there in a joke, friends and foes together. , side by side to catch a leaping idiot protruding. I can’t wait 8 p.m. TnT Hope 1 million viewers will go. ”
Cutler was finally pulled from this game scheduled for Dynamite last night. The game turned into a 6v6 game when Wardlow had to retire due to a family issue. Cutler was the other man who was taken out of the game for the other team.
