Ashanti has tested positive for COVID-19.

The singer, 40, took to her Instagram to make the announcement on Saturday afternoon, just hours before heading to an Apple Music Verzuz event opposite Keyshia Cole.

“Hey all of you, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I tested positive for COVID-19,” singer Rock Wit U wrote on her Instagram.

“I’m fine and have no pain,” she continued.

“Actually, I’m ready to do the Verzuz from my house… we’re trying to figure it all out !!!”

While reiterating that she felt great and ready to participate in the event from home, Keyshia told her to rest and defer for the New Year.

And according to Instagram account @VerzuzTV, the rescheduled event will take place on January 9.

“Unfortunately we have to postpone @Ashanti vs @KeyshiaCole #VERZUZ tonight. Ashanti has tested positive for COVID-19 beforehand, and we can’t put anyone at risk in the process, ”the statement read.
