Alexis Sharkey, an Instagram influencer, was found dead after missing on Friday, his family confirmed.
In a statement shared on Facebook on Sunday night, Sharkey’s mother, Stacy Robinault, wrote: “It is deeply heartbroken that Mike and I want to let you all know that Lexi’s body has been found. We cannot begin to thank you all for your love and the kind words you have addressed to our family!
“Please give us this time to mourn this incredible loss for our family and this world !!! We will miss you, my love !!!! ”
Sharkey, who lived in Houston, Texas, went missing on Friday night, according to her mother, who said ABC13 before the death of the 26-year-old whom she hadn’t seen or heard from her daughter since just before Thanksgiving Thursday.
“(Thanksgiving) has been a busy day on his side and on our side and so it was just one of those things going on, like ‘I love you’,” Robinault said on the exit. “Then Friday… honestly, Friday got away. (It was a) busy day. We never spoke, then she disappeared Friday night and I haven’t seen or heard from her since. ”
According to Robinault, she learned that her daughter was missing from her husband Tom Sharkey on Saturday, at which point she said she had gone into “total panic mode”.
In addition to contacting the police, Robinault also shared a call for information on Facebook, where she shared photos of her daughter and wrote: “Please share this post !!! My daughter, Alexis Sharkey, is missing !! No one has heard from her for more than 24 hours and the police are involved. She has been living in Houston, Texas since January and this is where she was last seen. Help us find her and bring her home safely !! We are so desperate !!! Please share !! ”
On Instagram, Sharkey’s husband thanked followers for their help while condemning those who said negative things about his wife’s disappearance.
He also said he “helped MPs and made phone calls to find out what happened to my wife”.
According to ABC13, police confirmed that a female body found by the side of the road in Houston on Saturday belonged to Sharkey, with a currently unknown cause of death. The independent contacted Houston Police for comment.
Before her death, Sharkey was well known on Instagram, where she described herself as a “mentor” and had over 22,000 followers.
In her latest post, shared on November 22, the 26-year-old expressed her desire to move to Tulum, Mexico.
