Zack Snyder opens up about Justice League sequel plans and Carla Gugino as Catwoman
In a recent League of Mayhem live-action appearance with The Nerd Queens, Zack Snyder spoke about the future of Justice League beyond the HBO Max miniseries, confirming that he already has ideas for a potential sequel involving a story about Ray Porter’s Darkseid.
“If you were to say to one of the actors in the movie ‘good what happens in the movie’ or ‘what happens later’ or whatever for any movie. And they go ‘well I have the script and it’s cool and I kinda know it and-‘ so [Ray Porter] and I was talking about that and what’s cool or what’s the correct answer to some questions, ” This Snyder. “That’s a good question for me to ask me, you know, like what am I telling the world about, you know, what happens when Darkseid comes to Earth?” So what? You know, is that a thing? And I think, look, the truth is, I wrote and had and designed a suit – do I know what happens when Darkseid… yeah. I know what’s going on. Saying and speculating on what it is and what it would be exciting, I think that’s a good thing.
During the same live broadcast, when a fan suggested the collaborator was dating Carla Gugino (Sucker Punch, Guardians) would have been a great Catwoman for Ben Affleck’s version of Batman, Snyder immediately agreed, providing the backstory for how Gugino’s Selina Kyle could have fit in. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
“I would probably say Carla’s Catwoman [is perfect], « This Snyder. “It should be said that there is a flashback of ten years ago, where [Batman and Catwoman] were one thing. And then he had to stop her, I don’t know what happened, or he had to let her go, and it changed him. And now who knows what she’s doing now, she’s running some kind of international antiques or something, and he needs to retire, and they meet up. Yeah, I think Carla is – yeah, she’s good.
