Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday ordered officials to make advance arrangements for the administration of the Covid-19 vaccine to people in an “organized and time-bound manner”.
The vaccine is expected to be available in India early next year.
“All preparations for vaccination should be made in advance. Vaccination work against Covid-19 must be carried out with interdepartmental coordination. A strong cold chain arrangement for vaccine storage should be ensured in all districts by December 15, ”he said at a review meeting here.
“He also asked to ensure adequate availability of vaccinators in view of the large population of the state,” said a spokesperson for the state government.
The Chief Minister also practically inaugurated and laid the foundation for BSL laboratories in various private and government hospitals in the state.
Welcoming the contribution of all involved in the task of dealing with the coronavirus pandemic in the state, the CM said their efforts have also been recognized globally.
Because of the contribution of those involved in the fight against the pandemic, international organizations, like the WHO, have welcomed the handling of the coronaviruses in Uttar Pradesh, he said.
“When the first case of Covid-19 was detected in the state, there were no testing facilities or beds. Faculties of medicine, district hospitals as well as private hospitals and central institutes worked together as a team. From 72 tests per day on March 23, the state’s testing capacity increased and tests of 1.75 lakh Covid-19 were carried out on Saturday, the chief minister said.
Now there is no problem with the testing, he said, adding that a total of 1.80 crore of Covid-19 tests have so far been conducted in Uttar Pradesh. and that the capacity will improve further from Monday.
