Ms Hughes, who was married to Elfyn Hughes and had two children, Arron and Annah, wanted to see the lights and hoped to take a photo of Gwrych Castle to send to a friend, her family said.
A statement issued by the police on behalf of his family and friends said: “His family and friends are totally shocked and perplexed by his tragic death and wish to say the following about their loss.
“Sharn was so selfless and had such a joyful and charitable attitude towards life.
“She was arranging basket deliveries to the local food bank through the Women’s Institute (WI). Her kindness will be forever missed.
“Her curiosity made her want to see the lights of Gwrych Castle, which unfortunately led to her tragic untimely death on a busy road. We are truly heartbroken.
“She was hoping to take a photo and send it to a friend. We know that several others will have done and are planning to do the same.
“We urge people to be very careful and remember that this is a busy Class A main road.”
North Wales Police said Ms Hughes was involved in a collision with a Volvo blue station wagon on the A547 Abergele Road at a place known as the Middle Gate around 5 p.m.
Sergeant Raymond Williams said: “We continue to call on anyone who may have witnessed the collision and has not yet come forward, or anyone who may have traveled along the A547 just before the collision and who may have a dashcam to contact us. at once. ”
Ms. Hughes has been involved in organizations such as Gallt Melyd Church, Gwaenysgor Choir, Trelawnyd WI and Dyserth WI.

A member of the WI added: “She was very active in the community, she was very generous with her time and just total generous, she put others first and was a born organizer.
“She belonged to two WIs, was treasurer of Gallt Melyd Church, helped organize food bank collections and recently very proudly completed the Couch 5 km away. ”
