Viral sensation Joaquin Buckley needs a doctor’s clearance to avoid a six-month layoff for a possibly injured hand after UFC 255.

Buckley is one of nine fighters who face lengthy medical suspensions after last Saturday’s pay-per-view event in Las Vegas, under terms released by official ABC records manager, mixedmartialarts.com. If cleared, the suspensions will be removed from their records and they will be allowed to fight.

Buckley earned his second UFC knockout victory in a bout against Jordan Wright, who succumbed to punches barely 18 seconds after the second round of the preliminary meeting.

Flyweight champion and UFC 255 headliner Deiveson Figueiredo notably avoided a suspension after a submission victory over Alex Perez. That sets the stage for a record turnaround when Figueiredo takes on Brandon Moreno at UFC 256 on December 12.
