Trump’s refusal to concede defeat will ‘cost Americans dearly’
Susan Rice, a former senior diplomat and national security adviser under the Obama administration, is the latest in a group of bipartisan leaders who have argued that Donald Trump’s refusal to concede the election and formally begin the process of transition harms national security – with a warning that its actions could “cost us dearly in American lives.”

Trump attacks ‘scum’ counter-protesters in Twitter rant
The president took to Twitter just before midnight Washington time to present his thoughts on the violent clashes.
Various charges, including assault and possession of weapons, have been filed against those arrested, officials said. Two police officers were injured and several firearms were found.
Earlier in the day, he had nodded approval to the rally by sending his procession through the fan-lined streets before heading to his Virginia golf club.

MAGA rallies turn violent in the United States
Several thousand Trump supporters gathered in Washington to protest the election.
There has been at least one stabbing and 20 arrests in the U.S. capital and several other cities have seen rallies of Trump supporters refusing to accept Democrat Joe Biden’s constituency and popular vote victory.
Cries to “stop the theft” and “count every vote” continued despite the lack of evidence of voter fraud or other issues that could reverse the outcome.
After dark, the relatively peaceful protests in Washington turned from tense to violent.
Videos posted to social media showed brawls, projectiles and clubs as Trump supporters clashed with those demanding to take their banners and leave.
