It came as the United States surpassed 13 million confirmed cases of coronavirus on Friday. More than a quarter of a million people have died – by far the highest total of any other country.

Trump loses Pennsylvania ‘voter fraud’ appeal in dazzling judge ruling

A blow to Donald Trump’s legal campaign to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election, a federal appeals court dismissed his emergency appeal in a lawsuit in Pennsylvania.

The 3-0 rejection in the case, seeking another attempt to overturn Pennsylvania’s results after a lower court dismissed the lawsuit last week, is another loss in the Trump campaign’s attempt to undermine the victory for President-elect Joe Biden.

Mr. Biden won the state by about 80,000 votes, according to the Pennsylvania Secretary of State’s office.

Trump promotes election disinformation in Pennsylvania

Donald Trump’s latest tweet, posted shortly after midnight, promoted blatant false statements about the Pennsylvania election.

According to Senator Doug Mastriano, the figure of 1,823,148 ballots indicates that Pennsylvania reported the shipment actually matches the number of registered Democrats who had requested ballots in the mail before Oct. 19.

He ignored registered Republicans or independents who also did.

In addition, October 19 was more than a week before the deadline for requesting postal ballots.

These votes were not “created out of thin air,” and all available evidence shows that Mr. Trump in fact lost Pennsylvania.

Wisconsin County recount requested by Trump sees Biden win

A recount in Wisconsin’s largest county called for by President Donald Trump’s election campaign ended on Friday with President-elect Joe Biden winning votes.

After the recount in Milwaukee County, Biden recorded a net gain of 132 votes, out of nearly 460,000 votes. In total, Biden won 257 votes to 125 for Trump.

Mr. Trump’s campaign had demanded recounts in two of Wisconsin’s most populous and Democratic-leaning counties, after losing Wisconsin to Mr. Biden by more than 20,000 votes. The two recounts will cost the Trump campaign $ 3 million. Dane County is expected to complete its recount on Sunday.

Overall, Mr. Biden won the U.S. presidential election on November 3 with 306 electoral college votes – far more than the 270 needed for victory – against Trump’s 232. Mr. Biden also leads the popular vote count by more than six million votes.

After the recount was completed, Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson said, “The recount demonstrates what we already know: that elections in Milwaukee County are fair, transparent, accurate and secure.”

The Trump campaign is still expected to mount a legal challenge to the overall outcome in Wisconsin, but time is running out. The state must certify its presidential result on Tuesday.
