Toronto Shoppers Drug Mart employees test positive for COVID-19

Four Shoppers Drug Mart branches in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area reported multiple cases of COVID-19 among their staff this week.According to Loblaws Ltd., on October 31, a Shoppers Drug Mart store at 1355 Kingston Road in Pickering reported a positive case in one of its employees. The last day they worked was October 21.

On November 1, a Shoppers Drug Mart, located at 1235 McCowan Road in Scarborough, reported a positive case. The last day they worked was October 30.

On the same day, another Shoppers Drug Mart store at 4700 Keele Street also reported a positive case. The last day they worked was October 28.

On November 1, a team member at a Shoppers Drug Mart store at 45 Overlea Boulevard also reported a positive case of COVID-19 among their staff. The employee’s last day of work was October 29.

Grocers such as Loblaws and Metro also reported cases of coronavirus among employees over the weekend.

In the interest of transparency, Loblaws regularly updates its reported coronavirus cases in stores by province over the past 15 days.

“In addition, we have required our staff and customers to wear masks at Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores and T&T stores across Canada,” Loblaws said.
