A month after Tom broke the news of his devastating health battle to stunned fans, he welcomed his first son with wife Kelsey, 30.
Talking in this week is OK! The birth magazine – which the couple said only lasted 30 minutes – proud daddy Tom said he broke down in tears the moment he first laid eyes on his boy.
Remembering the moment he held his boy, Tom said, “It was so sweet. I cried my eyes! ”
Tom and Kelsey, who are also the parents of their daughter Aurelia, also revealed the unique name they chose for their second born, Bodhi.
“Bodhi means enlightenment,” Kelsey explained. “So that fits perfectly with our current situation. He is the light at the end of our tunnel. ”
“Tom didn’t want the name,” she added. “I said, ‘Tom, I don’t care what you say – we have Bodhi and that’s it.’ “
The good news of Tom and Kelsey was first revealed by Max George in October.
During an appearance on the Lorraine Show, Max let the ad slip by talking about his teammate.
Max told host Lorraine Kelly, “I spoke to him yesterday and he’s fine, he’s doing great.
“Kelsey gave birth to their second child last week. He’s a fighter, Tom will be fine.
“If you watch in passing, mwah, I love you all,” Max said.
Earlier this year, Tom opened up about his diagnosis of terminal brain cancer for the first time on social media.
He said he realized that “something was wrong” in July.
Sharing a photo of himself with his wife and 16 month old daughter, he revealed the news to his fans and said, “Hey guys, you know we’ve both been quiet on social media for a few weeks. and it’s time to tell yourself why.
“There is no easy way to say this, but unfortunately I have been diagnosed with a brain tumor and am already on treatment.
“We decided, after a lot of thought, that rather than hiding and trying to keep it a secret, we would do an interview where we could lay out all the details and let everyone know the facts in our own way.
“We are all absolutely devastated, but we will fight this to the end.
“We don’t want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and seek out all available treatment options. It will be an uphill battle, but with the love and support of all we will overcome this. Tom and Kelsey xxx. ”
