The former Arrow actor was a guest on Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You podcast. At one point in their conversation, Amell said he wasn’t sure the annual Arrowverse crossover would take place next year due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) on the set. When Rosenbaum asked Amell if the Arrowverse’s name had been changed, Amell replied, “Yeah, maybe they’re trying to call him CWverse now. It pissed me off. [laughing]. »
Amell added that the change is likely coming from the marketing department trying to release content. “On the B side of Comic-Con, all the shows would have images, and none of them have any,” he continued. “I think some of them started? I don’t know, I’m so out of the mix. Rosenbaum then asked Amell if he was bothered by the Arrowverse’s name change.
“I don’t care if they stop calling him the Arrowverse,” he said. “But you don’t need to come up with a new name. I have the right to complain a little about it.
During his time on Inside of you, Amell also revealed he contracted COVID-19 while filming his upcoming wrestling drama, Heels. He discussed the impact of his health on the production of the series and what those first two days looked like after his diagnosis.
“I did not shoot Heels in exactly three weeks today. I’m going back to work tomorrow. I tested positive for COVID-19, ”revealed Amell. He continued, “I started to notice something on a Monday but I didn’t have a… test result. I called the people at CTEH, had them come to my house, test me. Come back positive the following Wednesday, retested, came back positive again. But, frankly, at that point, I didn’t need a second positive test because those first two days, really… they were right, they were just bad. ”
Amell also entered his mindset believing he would never get COVID-19. “Oh, I always knew it was a possibility, number one, and I felt a lot of pressure not to get it,” he said. “And this is something I got into once I tested positive… a lot of mental fear… but to answer that… question first, I’ve always been very good at… wearing a mask on social networks distance, follow the rules. ”
Written by Michael Waldron, Heels stars Stephen Amell, Alison Luff, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Bauer, Allen Maldonado, James Harrison and Mary McCormack. The series has yet to receive a premiere date.
