Tamara Lindeman has announced her fifth studio album under the name Weather Station: Ignorance arrives February 5, 2021 via Fat Possum. 2017 follow-up The weather station includes the single “Robber”. Below, find the clip of the new single “Tried to Tell You”, a sort of sequel to the visual “Robber”.In a statement, Lindeman said “I tried to tell you” means “to reach out to someone; a specific person, or perhaps each person, who packs his craziest and most passionate self in the service of an order that destroys himself (and the world?). Lindeman added video:

The video portrays a person in the throes of miracles and visions of beauty, which emanate from within and all around him, but rather than reacting with admiration or joy, he reacts with annoyance, indifference and distrust. We are taught not to see the natural world we still live in, preferring instead to dwell on the artificial, which is so often a poor substitute for the vibrant real. Flowers really spring from the mud, and many of us are full of treasures and beauty, but we often push them aside or throw them away.

Tamara Lindeman recorded Ignorance with drummer Kieran Adams, bassist Ben Whiteley, percussionist Philippe Melanson, saxophonist Brodie West, flutist Ryan Driver, keyboardist Johnny Spence and guitarist Christine Bougie. Along with his voice, Lindeman played piano and guitar on the record. In addition, she co-produced Ignorance with Marcus Paquin, who also mixed the album.

On Thursday 11 February 2021, the weather station will give a full concert of Ignorance. Find tickets at NoonChorus.
