SKF consolidates its manufacturing and organizational structure in France


GOTHENBURG, Suède, November 3, 2020 / PRNewswire / – SKF Today Announces Consolidation and Restructuring of Various Manufacturing, Sales and Administration Functions France. Consequently, the manufacture of slewing bearings would be moved from Avallon to St-Cyr-sur-Loire, leading to the planned closure of the Avallon plant.The transfer of production from Avallon to St-Cyr allows a more competitive and flexible offer to customers, as well as the achievement of synergies from the service center and existing logistics capacities in Saint-Cyr.

The Avallon site currently has 140 employees and operations are expected to cease by the end of 2022. The restructuring of manufacturing, sales and administration functions in France is expected to affect approximately 110 employees.

The proposals announced today are subject to consultation with representatives of French employees.
