Sir Sean Connery’s granddaughter, Saskia, has broken her silence following the death of the legendary actor.It was revealed last week that the 90-year-old Hollywood legend passed away peacefully in his sleep in the Bahamas, surrounded by his loved ones.

Now her 24-year-old granddaughter has taken to her Instagram to pay a glowing tribute to her grandfather James Bond.

Sharing an emotional post on social media alongside a heartwarming snap of the couple, Saskia called Sir Sean her ‘best friend’.

Saskia – who is the daughter of actor Jason Connery – wrote: “A surreal farewell to my best friend, my mentor and my dear grandfather. Please respect my family’s privacy as we process this news. “

The soft click showed Sir Sean was holding Saskia in the sea, as she placed a soft kiss on his cheek.

She then shared another snapshot of her famous grandfather on her Instagram story, writing, “At half mast and forever missed.”

The Scottish actor has passed away at the age of 90 and was best known for his portrayal of 007, being the first to bring the role to the big screen.

The actor has enjoyed a long and distinguished career, but is best known for being the original James Bond and to many fans the best of all time.

The 24-year-old called her grandfather her “best friend”

He brought Ian Fleming’s secret agent to the big screen in 1962’s Dr No and went on to star in a total of seven blockbuster films.

With Bond propelling him to international stardom, Sir Sean spent over 40 years in the industry where he won an Oscar, two Baftas and three Golden Globes.

The proud Scotsman was knighted in 2000 for his services in dramatic cinema.
