Republic is an organization campaigning for the abolition of the monarchy and for Queen Elizabeth II to be replaced by a democratic and elected head of state. Graham Smith, the organization’s CEO, told Express.co.uk that Prince Andrew is stepping down from office with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepping down from royal life and the prospect of the Queen’s death within the next 10 years will leave the monarchy with only a few recognizable members.
“Meghan and Harry are gone, the Queen is retiring more and more due to her age and she will likely die before the end of the decade.
“What you have left are the only recognizable royals like Charles, William and Kate. ”

Mr Smith continued, “Charles doesn’t have the same warmth and support as others and quite frankly William and Kate are rather boring and uninteresting individuals who will always play second fiddle to the next monarch. ”
“All of this will take a lot of the shine out of the monarchy and raise questions about why we have to accept it. ”
He added: “The roster of royals we have become accustomed to for so many years is rapidly shrinking. ”
Richard Fitzwilliams, a royal commentator, strongly disagreed with the point of view advanced by Republic.
The royal commentator added: “The enormous popularity of the Queen and that of the monarchy was clear in the recent YouGov poll.
“It will be evident again when a grateful nation commemorates the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in the summer of 2022.
“As to why the nation supports the royal family, their role as symbols of national unity that is above party politics, as well as their charity work and global profile, to name a few -one of the advantages, are among the reasons. “
