Rivian’s pricing and specs make Ben Sullins say it’s a game changer

Among the future presentations of electric cars, which will be the most disruptive? The Lucid Air, with its extreme energy efficiency, long range and elegant engineered solutions? The Cybertruck? Ben Sullins sees great potential for this with Rivian after checking the recently released pricing and specs for the R1T and R1S.The YouTuber revealed in August that he had ordered the Rivian electric van. In the video he spoke about it in, the longtime Tesla supporter said the Cybertruck would likely be a fantastic vehicle, but it was too much for him: too big, too flashy, too aggressively designed. The R1T would meet its needs much better.

The video doesn’t specify how Rivian will be a game-changer based on the new specs that have been revealed not price, but the latter is very likely to be responsible. After all, the R1T won’t be as expensive as most people initially thought.

With the federal tax credit of $ 7,500, the Rivian pickup truck would start at $ 60,000. Sullins believes some versions of the Ford F-150 and other combustion engine competitors are around this. Simply put, this would make the R1T competitive against those high end classic pickups.

With a range of over 300 miles, the R1T would attract people keen on something new and could possibly win their hearts and pockets without much more effort than just being an EV. If they are used as cars that ultimately transport things. If they’re used like trucks – especially for towing – the EV side of things can take a toll on the experience.

Unfortunately, Rivian has yet to reveal how the R1T performs. Nor if it will have no interesting solution for towing like the one developed by James Klafehn. A T-Rex made by Rivian or an associated company would help a lot.

If you haven’t read our articles on Rivian’s Electric Pickup Truck and SUV pricing and specs, Sullins’ video will be an entertaining way to find out more. He also promised to make a new video when the online configurator becomes available for bookings on November 16. We will pay particular attention to it.
