Region adds 67 new COVID cases


Waterloo Region Public Health posted an increase of 67 COVID-19 cases on its dashboard on Sunday afternoon.That brings the new total to 2,706 cases for the region since March.

The number of active cases rose to 361 from 318 since yesterday.

Here are some more updates to the region’s COVID summary dashboard on Sunday:

  • 2,224 resolved cases (82%).
  • 121 related deaths in the region, none reported since October 31.
  • 12 cases are currently hospitalized.

There are 26 active outbreaks in the region:

  • Sports and fitness facilities (nine cases)
  • Construction workplace (three cases)
  • Another construction workplace (eight)
  • Another construction workplace (two cases)
  • Long term care at Pinehaven (one case in staff)
  • Trade and related services workplace (two cases)

  • Claudette Millar Hall, University of Waterloo (four cases)
  • Workplace of trades and related services (two cases)
  • Gathering frame (two cases)
  • Another gathering frame (one case)
  • Another gathering frame (two cases)
  • General office (four cases)
  • Another general office manager (two cases)
  • Another general office manager (two cases)
  • Restaurant Algarve (12 caisses)
  • Manufacturing and industrial work (nine cases)
  • Another manufacturing and industrial workplace (three cases)
