Video filmed in Philadelphia shows some Republicans playing “Killing in the Name” while wearing Trump hats and waving flags bearing the phrase “Blue Lives Matter.”

Blue Lives Matter is a countermovement that pushes to condemn those who kill law enforcement officers as a hate crime.

These Republicans have since become the source of vitriol for choosing this particular song given that the 1992 was written in opposition to institutional racism and American police brutality.

With that in mind, many frustrated Rage Against the Machine fans shared the video on Twitter, stating that these people were “missing the point” of the lyrics. Even guitarist Tom Morello responded.

“HOW DO YOU LISTEN TO RAG AGAINST THE MACHINE AND BE PART OF THE MACHINE ?!” wrote a confused tweeter.

Another said, “It reminds me that some people just don’t hear the lyrics. “

Another tweet called it “irony at its best” with another saying, “This must be the most hilarious self in a very long time. “

The song was featured on the band’s self-titled debut album.

The song is widely believed to be a critique of America for marginalizing working class veterans upon their return to the homeland.

To add to the embarrassment of the blunder, the fact that the Trump Hospital was located, Walter Reed, is a military hospital.

The 2020 U.S. presidential election has yet to declare an official winner, but Joe Biden has overtaken Trump in several key states.
