Barely a month before her death, Princess Diana reportedly admitted that she was willing “to return to Charles in the blink of an eye if he wanted”.
This complaint was presented by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and former editor-in-chief of The new yorker, Tina Brown.
The women spoke to The telegraph of the day about this heartfelt admission and explained how they both had lunch with the Princess at the Four Seasons when she made the admission.
Ms Anna and Ms Brown told the main daily, “At the end of Diana’s life, she and Charles were in the best shape they had been for a very long time. Charles got into the habit of meeting her at Kensington Palace and they would have tea and some sort of sad exchange.
“They even laughed together. It was really calming, the boys were older. They talked about their philanthropies. And she had accepted Camilla.
Towards the end of her life, “One thing she finally did was really understand that Camilla was the love of her life and that there was nothing she could do about it. But she told me over that lunch that she would be going back to Charles in the blink of an eye if he wanted her.
