Cleveland Police said a crime report has been drawn up and investigations are underway into the incident, which allegedly erupted after a woman was ordered to silence a customer during the silence held for honor fallen servicemen.
A mortified customer told Teesside Live: “We were all still, observing the two minute silence when we heard a lot of screaming and screaming.
“Everyone was looking at each other, we were like ‘what’s going on’.
“I heard someone scream” you disrespected my mom! “”
There were crushed eggs all over the floor, the customer said.
Police were called to the scene. A spokesperson confirmed Monday morning that investigations are continuing.
“Police received a report of an altercation at Tesco on Trunk Road, South Bank, at 11:07 am on Sunday, November 8th.
“Following a verbal altercation, apparently involving a man and a woman and two other women, a man allegedly assaulted the two women,” a force spokesperson said.
“A crime report has been drawn up and investigations are underway. There are no arrests at this point. ”
