Ole Gunnar Solskjaer agrees with Jose Mourinho’s statement after Manchester United beat West Brom

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects the Premier League season to remain unpredictable and endorses Jose Mourinho’s assessment of the current campaign. United eventually claimed their first home league win over West Brom thanks to a Bruno Fernandes penalty, a victory that propelled the Reds into the first half of the Premier League table.

Earlier today, Spurs continued their impressive early-season form under the former United boss by beating Manchester City to solidify their place at the top of the table.

Mourinho has ruled out the possibility of a title challenge and has previously spoken about the unpredictability of the current campaign due to the various mitigating circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 crisis.

Solskjaer agreed with his point after the win over West Brom and stressed the importance of gaining points without playing your best.

“The league this season is going to be incompatible with ups and downs,” he said. BT Sport. “It’s unpredictable – we’ve seen results today and it’s not really a solution.

“Like Jose said, a win gets you up the table, a loss brings you closer to the bottom. It’s very tight, it’s very early and the points are more important than the performances sometimes. ”

Solskjaer admitted United could perform better, but stressed the importance of the result after the challenges his side faced after the international break.

He added: “After the international break, we said it in the locker room, it’s difficult. We haven’t worked together.

“We waited this morning to prepare for this match, it’s never easy when everyone has been absent for 10 days.

“We know we can do better, but three points is three points. “
