New York to require Covid testing, three-day quarantine for visitors

Visitors who choose not to be tested on the fourth day will be required to remain isolated for 14 days. Proof of negative tests, required on arrival, must be obtained within three days of entering New York. The rule will be enforced by airports and local state health departments, which will validate tests if necessary.New York residents, who depart less than 24 hours, do not need to take a test before returning to the Empire State, although they must take a test within four days of arrival.

New York reported a statewide positivity rate of 1.49%. The positivity rate in micro-cluster areas with higher infections, such as Brooklyn, Queens and Rockland, was 3%, lower than the 7-day average of 3.1% in those locations.
