New York Giants WR Golden Tate bench on a blast of use

New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate did not travel with the squad on Saturday and will be inactive for Sunday’s game against Washington as part of the discipline because of his actions during and after the week’s loss last against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.Tate was told to stay home on Wednesday while the Giants trained and spent most of the rest of the week working with the reconnaissance team. Coach Joe Judge did not rule out the possibility that the veteran wide receiver might not be active for the divisional game on Friday.

“I will be discussing a lot of possibilities on Friday after practice,” said the judge.

Tate was caught on camera yelling “Throw me the ball” after his spectacular leaping touchdown late in the fourth quarter on Monday night put the Giants in a position to tie the game. His wife, Elise, took to Instagram that night for his lack of opportunities, and Tate then liked a tweet suggesting he should be cut off and given the option to sign elsewhere.
