This year was supposed to be a big one for Disney theme park fans – the Marvel-themed areas of Disneyland were supposed to open over the summer, Epcot was set to undergo a first wave of major renovations, and around the world, Disney parks everywhere were going to get new hotels, attractions and restaurants.
New Disney Parks Video Wants Us All To Remember, Yes, these changes will always happen… eventually! There are a few glimpses of Ratatouille’s next round in Orlando, the Avengers campus in Anaheim and Paris, the Zootopia-themed terrain in Shanghai, and more.
Disney theme parks closed in March, due to growing concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic. Although sites in Anaheim and Orlando were opened over the summer, they have adopted policies to reduce the spread of the coronavirus, including limiting the number of guests in parks and requiring masks. It is uncertain whether the parks will remain open amid the recent surge in coronavirus cases. As for the timeline of the attractions promised in the video, only the Ratatouille ride has an opening date, sometime in 2021. More information is available on the Disney Parks blog.
For those who can’t wait to return to Disney theme parks but don’t want to risk the trip, virtual tours are available for most, if not all, of the Disney theme park attractions. It’s not quite the same feeling of walking Main Street with your Mickey Mouse ice cream, but maybe a little safer.
