More Toronto Shoppers Drug Mart Employees Test Positive for COVID-19

More Shoppers Drug Mart locations in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area have reported cases of COVID-19 among their staff.According to Loblaw Ltd., three separate Shoppers Drug Mart sites reported cases of COVID-19 among their employees over the weekend.

On November 15, an employee of a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 70 Eglinton Square tested positive for a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had worked for the last time on November 8.

The next day, two employees of a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 524 Queen Street West tested positive in a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had worked for the last time on November 4 and 10.

On the same day, two employees of a Shoppers Drug Mart located at 629 Markham Road in Scarborough tested positive in a presumptive test for COVID-19. They had worked for the last time on November 6 and 8.

The Loblaws Company has also reported several cases at grocery stores in the Greater Toronto Area, including other grocers like Metro and Sobeys.

In the interest of transparency, Loblaws regularly updates the coronavirus cases reported in stores by province over the past 15 days.

“Additionally, we have instructed our staff and customers to wear masks at Extra Foods, Fortinos, Maxi, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores and T&T stores across Canada,” Loblaws said.
