Martin Freeman is reportedly dating a French actress who is 21 years his junior, four years after his split from longtime partner Amanda Abbington.
According to a report, the Hobbit actor, 49, has found love again with his compatriot and writer Rachel Mariam, 28, with whom he was first seen earlier this month.
A source claimed the screen star introduced his new girlfriend to his friends before the lockdown, and the couple are currently enjoying some quality time together at their north London home.

The insider told The Sun, “It’s still early days, but they’re getting along really well. They both love the same movies, and Martin supports her acting and writing career.
“They spent quite a bit of time together at his home in north London because of Covid, but Rachel was able to meet some of her friends before the lockdown. “
Rachel was born in Toulouse, France, and has appeared on shows such as the BBC’s hit series Normal People and the YouTube series Call It a Day.
The rising star also has a promising writing career, having competed against Shia LaBeouf’s Honey Boy as a semi-finalist for her screenplay Juliet Is Fine in the Save The Cat Screenplay Challenge 2020.

On top of their blossoming relationship, Martin’s new lady uploaded a soft toned image of the couple as they headed to a screening for Long Hot Summers.

The former couple share two children, son Joe, 14, and daughter Grace, 12. The Mr. Selfridge actress had previously admitted that she kept their breakup a secret for six months.

Amanda, a mother of two, told The Sunday Times magazine: “When we broke up nobody knew, we didn’t tell anyone except a few key people because they had to know, because of the logistics of hotels and others. “
“We still get along really well, we still really admire each other as actors… he’s a great guy, but we couldn’t live together anymore.
Proving to be amicable exes, Martin said in a separate interview with Radio Times: “We broke up a while ago.
“I mean, we’re very friendly and everything is lovely and cool. Yes, we haven’t been together for a while. I mean, we didn’t do the show together.
“I’m fine, yes. I mean we’re being honest with God doing it [separating] in a way about as civilized as I’ve ever heard of, you know.
“I love Amanda’s job. I think she’s brilliant as an actor and she’s brilliant as a woman and, yeah, I love her. I’ll always love Amanda, but yeah, we’re… you know, that’s what happened.
