After being sidelined in five of United’s last seven games in all competitions and coming under heavy criticism in England, Pogba gave a stellar response on Saturday night with a very strong performance in France’s 1-0 win over Portugal .

Speaking about his difficult time in Manchester, the midfielder told French radio RTL: “It’s a time that I had never experienced in my career before, where I still play and still have the rhythm. And suddenly that changes. Little by little, I recover my feelings. I find myself. This is what I have to do all the time and be consistent. ”

As has been the case for the past four years, the national team are helping Pogba recover from a difficult situation at club.

“The national team is like a window that opens, it’s a breath of fresh air,” said Pogba. “I was talking with Antoine [Griezmann] and Raphael [Varane] the Saturday. We were sitting down to lunch together and we were like, ‘guys, I don’t know if we realize this, but this team is amazing. “

“When we come here, we are all happy to see each other. We’re in the field, we’re having fun. It’s not that we don’t have fun with our clubs, but here, it’s not the same thing. This team is magic in the way we live together. ”

Pogba will once again feel rejuvenated by his time with his French teammates. He had a long conversation with Didier Deschamps this week and his performance against a fit Portugal showed what he is capable of, even though he is not yet in great shape.

In the interview with RTL he never spoke negatively about Manchester United and his take on the atmosphere in the France team was not a comparison to the atmosphere at United nor a criticism of the club from Old Trafford.
