Man in hospital after ‘altercation’ outside Belfast McDonald’s

Police are investigating an ‘altercation’ outside a fast food restaurant in Belfast city center on Monday evening.The incident reported at Castle Place took place around 5:50 p.m. after a member of security staff asked a customer to leave the premises, PSNI said.

Video footage of the reported altercation was shared on social media platforms.

A PSNI spokesperson told Belfast Live: “A man in his twenties was arrested following the incident, then released on bail, and remains in hospital on Tuesday to receive treatment for a head injury.

“Further investigations are underway into the matter and officers will ask anyone with information that could help them to contact the police at Lisburn Road at 101 citing reference number 1460 11/23/20.

Meanwhile, police are also asking for information following the report of an aggravated burglary at a property in Belfast’s Radnor Street area on Monday.

At approximately 11:10 p.m., officers received a report that a man and a woman had been assaulted in their home.
