Late night talk show host James Corden mocks BC Ferries graphic mask sign

NEWS – A sign that has raised the eyebrows of BC ferry passengers is also drawing international attention. Over the weekend, a stock image used in a reminder of BC Ferries’ mandatory masking policy drew comparisons as some saw more than the outline of a masked man.

Late night talk show host James Corden is apparently one of those people.

Corden, which hosts The late show, mocked the signs during Wednesday’s episode.

During a segment on the news headlines, most of which involved Donald Trump, Corden had the logo displayed on screen.

“A company in Canada is getting a lot of attention online for its brand encouraging people to wear a mask,” he summarized.

“Because, well, you’ll see it when you see it. ”

The audience laughed, while Corden joked, “Sorry, I can’t hear. I have a penis in my ear. I mean talking about ‘graphics’. ”

Laughing at the reaction of someone who hadn’t initially realized what he was pointing out, he asked, “How didn’t you see him, Susan?” He has a giant (expletive) in his ear. ”

When the comparisons were first made on social media, BC Ferries confirmed that the sign was in fact what they chose and that the graphic was a stock image.

On Twitter, the company wrote: “If anyone was unaware of our obligation to wear masks… they know it now.”
