Jason Momoa says he and his family were ‘starving’ and in debt after Game Of Thrones

Jason Momoa opened up about how he and his family were “starving” after landing his role in Game Of Thrones. The father-of-two has revealed the “very difficult” time he experienced as he struggled to find a job after appearing on the fantasy series before it became a worldwide hit for HBO.

The actor shares his daughter Lola Iolani, 13, and son Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha, 11, with his actress wife Lisa Bonet, 52.

Jason, 41, said: “I couldn’t find a job. It is very difficult when you have babies and you are completely in debt.

The star has since enjoyed tremendous success following his stint on the show and landed the much sought after role of Arthur Curry in Aquaman.

But Jason revealed that things weren’t always so good.

He told InStyle in an interview this week, “I mean, we were starving after Game Of Thrones. ”

Hawaii-born Jason shared how his family went through a dark time when his character Khal Drogo was killed in 2011, before the series exploded for HBO.

Momoa has spoken of drowning in debt and trying to feed her young “starving” family of four before finally landing Aquaman.

The DC superhero film grossed over $ 1.1 billion at the global box office, with the film’s astonishing success seeing Jason grow into one of Hollywood’s most bankable actors.

During his conversation with the post, he spoke candidly about going into therapy as he navigated the world of mega fame.

“I amplify myself all day, then my nervous system doesn’t know I’m not chopping off people’s heads,” he says.

“For me, relaxing and sitting still is almost impossible.”

He also opened up about his relationship with his son, Wolf, adding, “I didn’t know what it takes to be a father.”

“And I don’t want to just say to my son, ‘Because I said it.’

“I really want to connect, and I want him to be vulnerable and open.”
