Houston Texans shut down facility after player tests positive for coronavirus


The Houston Texans closed their facilities Thursday after one of their players tested positive for COVID-19.The Texans said they were informed of the positive test Wednesday night, and all of their operations Thursday will be conducted virtually.

“In consultation with the NFL and medical experts, we have made the decision to shut down the facility and conduct virtually all operations today,” the team said in a statement. “The player immediately self-isolated and the contact tracing began. We will follow intensive NFL protocols and guidelines regarding team operations. The health and safety of our team, as well as all of our staff, is of the highest priority. ”

The Texans face the Jaguars in Jacksonville on Sunday, and there has been no official word yet on the status of that game.
