HOLLY Willoughby was forced to miss two days of work after two of her children fell ill and had to be tested for coronavirus, The Sun can reveal.
The popular presenter This Morning was also tested despite the lack of symptoms.
The family got the green light last night – and the 39-year-old will be back in the studio on Monday.
Holly shares children Harry, 11, Belle, 9, and Chester, 5, with producer husband Dan Baldwin.
She posted a thank you message to fans on Instagram this morning, writing: “Over the past few days two of our children were sick and showing symptoms of Covid.
“In accordance with government guidelines, we were waiting for the test results before returning to work.
“Add to that the simple fact of wanting to take care of two unhappy kids, that meant having two days away from This Morning. ”
She added: “I chose not to alert everyone about this because my goal was to cure them…
“Fortunately, all the tests came back negative and everyone is feeling much better… see you on Monday! ”
News of her fear ends days of rampant speculation after Alison Hammond and Davina McCall were called in at the last minute to replace her.
A source told The Sun earlier today: “Two of the children got really sore at the start of the week and exhibited Covid-like symptoms.
“There was no doubt Holly was going to work – she wanted to stay home and just be a mom, looking after her kids.
“So they all went into isolation at home, waiting for their test results. Obviously it was a worrying time but Phillip [Schofield] and everyone at ITV was incredibly supportive. ”
This Morning fans have flooded social media in the wake of Holly’s absence this week, sparking a wave of wild speculation about where she was.
