Heavy snowfall expected: Environment Canada

Special weather bulletin in effect for:

  • Guelph – Erin – South Wellington County
  • Kitchener – Cambridge – Waterloo Region
  • Mount Forest – Arthur – Wellington County North

Heavy snowfall is expected from Sunday to Sunday evening.

Snow is expected to start on Sunday morning.

5-10 cm of snow is possible before the snow goes out overnight.

An exception will be areas near Lake Ontario where the snow will be very wet. This should prevent significant accumulations in areas near the lake.

Travel should be affected due to moderate to heavy snowfall. Motorists should be prepared for winter driving conditions.

This is the result of a Colorado low that will follow from Ohio to the St. Lawrence River from Sunday to Monday.

There is still some uncertainty in guiding the model as to the exact path of the depression and axis of the heaviest snow. We will continue to monitor the situation and update special weather reports as new data becomes available.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather conditions, email [email protected] or tweet the reports using #ONStorm.
