But pastry week saw Ermine fall flat as bakers had to bake Danish cornucopia cake as a technical challenge.
The cake, also known as the Horn of Plenty, caused a lot of trouble for the bakers and a lot of innuendo from hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas.
The signature trick was a basted cake, while the flagship challenge was to create a cake made from cupcakes.
Hermine expected to do well, Prue telling him, “This will be your day.”
But later in the show, Prue said Hermine’s performance was “so disappointing.”
But viewers were confused as to how Ermine scored low when Peter also struggled and didn’t actually create a horn.
One of them wrote: “I still don’t fully understand the score for technique. Ermine, yours was almost perfect, 2nd “” Peter, we asked for a horn, and you didn’t, which means you didn’t fit the writ. 1st. ”
Another added: “So Hermine was the ONLY one up for the challenge of looking exactly what we expected and she’s second… what ?! “.
Another recited: » #GBBO IS RIGGED. HOW LAURA DIDN’T GO? BULLS ** T. ”
“The fact that Hermine was gone and Laura didn’t boil my blood.” Ridiculous, ”wrote another.
“I can’t believe Laura is still in the competition as Ermine has been breezing her since day one! What the hell is this? Another asked.
Another wrote: “Noooo, how did Hermine not make the final. Star Baker twice, a bad week and she’s gone, surely has to factor more than a week into deciding the finalists.
With Ermine gone, that leaves Peter Sawkins, Dave Friday and Laura Adlington to face off in next week’s finals.
