‘Friends’ reunion postponed to March 2021, says Matthew Perry

Matthew Perry has very excited “Friends” fans.

The actor, 51, announced on Twitter Thursday that the highly anticipated “Friends” reunion special will debut in March 2021 on HBO Max.

Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow have yet to comment on the news.

“The meeting of friends is postponed until the beginning of March. Looks like we have a busy year ahead. And that’s how I like it! ” he wrote.

In August, the meeting was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic after it was initially scheduled to be taped in April and aired in May.

Marta Kauffman, co-creator of the show, previously told Entertainment Tonight that she wanted to wait until the special was recorded because she wanted a live audience to be able to attend.

“We all want this to happen. We just have to wait until it’s safe. It’s a show that isn’t scripted, but this is how the show works – we’re going to need a live audience. Even though we socially distance ourselves from that live audience, that’s really a big part of what “Friends” is… We can’t do it without them, ”she said in August. “Everyone is on top and we’re just waiting for the moment they feel connected to attract a live audience.

The special was announced in February with all of the cast set to be produced by management.

Studio in Burbank to celebrate the beloved show, ”a press release obtained by Fox News at time of reading. “The unscripted reunion special, along with all 236 episodes of the Emmy-winning series, will be available to subscribers at the launch of HBO Max. ”

“Friends” ran for 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004 on NBC.

A representative for HBO Max did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
