A HUGE 1,000-PERSON manhunt is underway to locate several “armed and dangerous” gunmen from ISIS after a massacre near a synagogue in Vienna.
Austrian public broadcaster ORF cited witnesses saying that several shots were fired shortly after 8 p.m. (7 p.m. GMT) in the center of the capital.
Four people were killed and 17 others injured as a result of the attacks, which took place at six different locations near the Stadttempel synagogue.
A policeman was also shot and wounded. Several authors are said to be at large and at large, according to the Austrian Interior Ministry.
A gunman named Kurtin S, armed with an assault rifle and wearing a fake bomb vest, was shot dead after the rampage.
Before the massacre, Kurtin S announced his attack on Instagram and pledged allegiance to ISIS. He is said to be a 20-year-old dual Austrian and Macedonian citizen who had previously been jailed for attempting to get to Syria.
