On Saturday, the Mirror exclusively revealed that Ruth and Eamonn will no longer host This Morning on Fridays and will be replaced by fan favorites Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
They will continue to host the show Monday through Thursday during the six week vacation that Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are on summer vacation.
The news angered fans of the show, who threatened to boycott the show unless the married couple reclaim their weekly slot.
Fern took to Twitter late last night to share a thread criticizing the move.
” Oh no ? Fern tweeted.
Fern had a feud with Phil, with whom she hosted This Morning.
Friends claimed she felt “underestimated” by ITV bosses and “lived in Phil’s shadow.”
The TV star surrendered his opinion in 2009, less than half of his two-year £ 1.5million contract.
It has been claimed that she found out she was paid £ 250,000 a year less than Phil, whose salary had skyrocketed during her time in the program.
He also reportedly earned three times his salary as they featured Mr and Mrs together – his £ 45,000 an hour to £ 15,000.
Four years later, in 2013, Phil revealed that he and Fern were no longer speaking and hinted at a breakup between them.
In his autobiography Life’s What You Make It, Phil shared his sadness that Fern didn’t text him when he became gay.
