Fijian skipper Semi Radradra has reportedly tested positive for Covid-19, Sunday’s test with France now uncertain

The fall Nations Cup test between France and Fiji on Sunday is threatened with cancellation following positive cases of coronavirus within the Fiji team.

France canceled their press conference on Friday, in which coach Fabien Galthie was to announce the team that will face Fiji in Vannes.

The French federation said the press conference was canceled “due to exceptional circumstances”.

Fijian rugby had confirmed earlier on Friday that one of their players – believed to be the Semi Radradra skipper and center – had tested positive for the new coronavirus.

“Testing after moving to our tournament base returned a positive case of COVID-19. The affected player had already tested negative before joining pre-camp and during pre-camp and has so far shown no symptoms, ”said the head of Fiji Rugby. Executive John O’Connor said in a statement.

“As part of the COVID-19 tournament protocols, the player has been isolated and is being monitored by our medical team. ”
