Exit talks set as Arsenal seek to prevent break-up with star

Arsenal will try to prevent a difficult situation from escalating by discussing a possible exit in January of a disgraced star.Mikel Arteta mission is to strengthen a Arsenal defense that had been for many years considered the weakness of the club.

Improved defensive displays are coming, with summer rookie Gabriel Magalhaes a particularly bright spark.

A player who had visions of becoming in Arsenal’s backline early in the season was William Saliba.

The young Frenchman moved to the Emirates in the summer of 2019. Thoguh as expected, he was immediately loaned to the former Saint-Etienne club.

With Arteta choosing to deploy three full-backs this season, there was great hope in Saliba’s camp that he could make eye-opening contributions from the start.

The 19-year-old has been overlooked, however, with Arsenal ultimately looking to loan the rising star to Ligue 1 once again in the summer window.

Such an agreement with Saint-Étienne unfortunately failed, however, to the dismay of the two Artetas and the player himself.

Handling of the situation drew criticism from a club legend. While Saliba’s omission from the Gunners’ Europa League squad won’t have done much to improve his mood.

Now according to The evening standard, Arsenal will seek to save the day and “make sure the right result is achieved”.

They reveal that “talks are planned ahead of the transfer window,” with the option of a loan release again touted.

Saliba is yet to make his first-team debut for the club. His appearances this season have been limited to the EFL Trophy with the Under-21s and Premier League 2.
